The Grootmeer and Kleinmeer are originally natural weakly buffered fens, which on the map of 1900 are still surrounded by heath. They originated in the period after the last ice age, about 10,000 years ago. They are located in an area that is higher than the surrounding area. Heathland fens are normally filled by rainwater that is retained because the bottom of such fen is poorly permeable, usually due to a layer of clay or loam. Art route Het Groene Lint is a land-art work of art that connects the center of Eersel with the center of Eindhoven via a 24 km long art walking path. A green ribbon of natural elements in the form of braided hedges, which forms a guideline along which the walker follows his footsteps. Bosschuur De Meren
Hidden in the woods, on the road from Wintelre to Vessem, not far from “Het Groot Meer“ lies “Bosschuur de Meren“. Well… a forest shed. More like a forest villa! It was once a barn for forest workers. Thanks in part to a large group of volunteers, this barn was converted into a nature experience centre. In January 2013, the Bosschuur was completely destroyed by a fire. A new (old) forest barn/forest villa was rebuilt on the same spot. A special place! Landgoed Baest is located in the municipality of Oirschot, between Tilburg and Eindhoven. The Estate is no less than 500 hectares in size. It consists largely of forest, but also of meadows and beautiful water features. The main house and various restored outbuildings together form an idyllic, originally medieval settlement. The buildings are privately inhabited and are therefore not publicly accessible, but can be viewed from a distance.

Beer has been brewed in Oirschot for centuries. In particular the beer from the former De Kroon brewery. That brewery is now completely back and is called Vandeoirsprong.
